Enrollment & Tuition
Shadowing / Admissions Process
At Roots Nature Academy, we want to ensure that our learning environment is the right fit for your child and your family. Our admissions process gives your family the opportunity to learn about Roots, experience our studio, and get to know our approach to learning before making a commitment to enrollment.
Step 1 — Family Interest Form
Begin by completing our Family Interest Form. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about your child, your family, and what you are looking for in an educational environment.
Step 2 — Campus Tour
Families who move forward will be invited to tour our campus, meet our team, and see the Roots learning environment firsthand.
Step 3 — Admissions & Shadow Day
Following the tour, families may be invited to complete our admissions forms and required waivers for their child’s Shadow Day.
The Shadow Day is an important part of our admissions process and is designed to be a two-way experience. Your child will spend time at Roots alongside our learners, experience the rhythm of the studio, participate in age-appropriate projects and activities, explore the learning environment, and get a feel for what a typical day at Roots is like. During the Shadow Day, our Guides will have the opportunity to observe your child as a learner — including how they interact with others, approach new experiences, collaborate, solve problems, explore their interests, and navigate our learner-driven environment. Most importantly, your child gets to experience Roots for themselves. We want them to have the opportunity to meet potential peers, interact with our Guides, explore our studio, and decide whether Roots feels like a place where they would enjoy learning and growing.
The Shadow Day allows both the family and Roots Nature Academy to determine whether we are the right fit for one another. Participation in a Shadow Day does not guarantee enrollment.
Step 4 — Enrollment at Roots
Following the Shadow Day, families who are invited to enroll will receive the remaining enrollment paperwork through Brightwheel.
To secure your child’s enrollment:
- $100 Registration Fee
- $150 Enrollment & Supply Fee
These fees are required when enrollment is confirmed. Once all required paperwork and fees have been received, our team will be in contact with your family to confirm your child’s start date and next steps.
Tuition and Scholarships
Each grade has the same tuition, Our tuition is $10,400 annually.
Payments would be $1,040 a month. Our payment portal is through Prenda.
Tuition INCLUDES supplies.
All you need to bring is your lunch, water bottle, snacks, headphones and a computer!

Hybrid
Our hybrid option assists families who are looking for more flexibility with their child’s education and are not looking for full-time attendance.
Days for in-person attendance would need to be communicated and coordinated with our guides to ensure accurate studio-guide ratios.
Our tuition for hybrid options are $7,200
Our standard hybrid tuition includes:
- Access to our virtual curriculum, tailored for your child’s individual needs.
- Project based learning curriculum (in person and virtual)
- Phonics and literacy curriculum (in person services only)
